Willow Run Ladies Golf Association
Welcome to the Willow Run Ladies’ Golf Association (WRLGA). This will be the inaugural season for the Ladies’ Golf Association. We are committed to providing our female members with one of the premier golf leagues in the Sioux Empire and wish to provide an experience that is both fun and competitive.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Willow Run Ladies’ Golf Association is to create a fun and relaxing golf environment for all participants through competitive and entertaining golfing events where players of all abilities of an opportunity to enjoy their experience on the golf course.
General Information
Monday Evenings
On Ladies’ Day, WRLGA members play a weekly net modified stableford scoring system. Ladies’ Day will shotgun at 6pm, altering front and back nines on a weekly basis. We encourage members to try and play with different WRLGA members but standing groups are allowed. This league is designed for players to play golf, socialize, and have fun. WRLGA members are not required to play every week and will not need to make up any missed dates. We will also host a year-end dinner for all Ladies’ Golf Association Members.
Starting Times
The initial format was for Ladies’ Day to be a 6:00PM shotgun, with the COVID-19 pandemic we have made the decision to switch to tee times. We have blocked off tee times from 5:00PM – 6:30PM on Monday nights for Ladies’ Day participants.
*You will be responsible for calling in and making your initial tee time for Week 1. That time will be then be your permanent tee time for the rest of the season*
We will be alternating between the front and back nines every week. The tee time format will only be until we can go back to our normal operations. Once that happens, we will go back to a 6pm shotgun!
Format
WRLGA members will compete in a net stableford scoring system. Rather than counting the total number of strokes taken, as in stroke play, stableford scoring involves scoring points based on the number of strokes taken at each hole. Unlike traditional scoring methods, where the aim is to have the lowest score, under Stableford rules, the objective is to have the highest score:
WRLGA Stableford Scoring Point System:
Hole-in-One: 10
Double Eagle: 8
Eagle: 7
Birdie: 5
Par: 4
Bogey: 2
Dbl Bogey: 1
Triple Bogey or Worse: 0
Points will accrue throughout the year with special events throughout (pin prizes, lowest putts, etc.) the year which will be $5/week and are optional to sign-up for. All events will be flighted based on the player’s USGA GHIN Handicap.
Special Events
A special game/event will be played every week along with the net stableford scoring system. This game could include such things as different pin prizes, lowest putts, and other fun and unique games. The game will be $5 a week and is optional for all players every week.
Entry into the special game also includes a raffle ticket into our special year long raffle prize. Raffle tickets will be collected throughout the year and put into a drawing for a one of a kind custom Scotty Cameron putter made specifically for the Willow Run Ladies’ Golf Association!!
Dues
Yearly dues of $50.00 per lady include:
- 2020 USGA Handicap
- Opening night hors d’oeuvres & social
- Year-end dinner & social
- Eligibility to compete in the Ladies’ Club Championship
- Performance and participation-based awards/prizes
